“Brooke is young and talented. I described her to a friend as the offspring of Amy Winehouse and Fiona Apple, raised in rural South Jersey by Regina Spektor…” -Kettle Pot Tracks
Not fitting into any one specific genre, Brooke DiCaro combines elements of jazz and blues to create a unique sound of her own highlighting a soulful voice accompanied by a ukulele and piano. Brooke is a passionate singer/songwriter growing up in the small rural town of Woodstown, New Jersey. She started off singing in school choirs and musical theater along with studying the piano. She later picked up the ukulele and became influenced by jazz and alternative writing styles often compared to Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse and Regina Spektor.
In November 2013, Brooke independently released her debut self-titled EP gaining recognition throughout the tri-state area, playing a Live at 5 studio session at Philly’s top alternative radio station Radio 104.5 and being spun on South Jersey’s WSTW 93.7 and Rowan Radio’s WGLS 89.7. Her sophomore EP, “Consequences” was released in the Spring of 2015, recorded at Locustwood studios and mixed and mastered by 9 time Grammy award winner Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo.
Now she plays weekly shows throughout the quad-state NJ/PA/DE/NY area where she does both original and cover gigs. Some notable venues she has played are The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, MusikFest, two Live @ 5 studio sessions on Philly’s Radio 104.5, Xfinity Live, Hard Rock Cafe, World Cafe Live (PA & DE), and many more. She has received airplay on South Jersey’s Radio WSTW 93.7 and Rowan Radio WGLS 89.7.Save to ical Save to Google Calendar
